Welcome

Since our inception in 2001, we at ONE Lowell have been dedicated to increasing the integration and self sufficiency of Lowell's many newcomers by strengthening civic participation, developing strong leadership and increasing access to vital services.

Current Highlights

  • One Lowell closing our doors
We have important news to share about a transition for ONE Lowell with you.

After careful study, the Board of Directors has determined that our remarkable programs require a parent organization with a geographical scope and depth of funding that exceeds our capacity. We realize that ONE Lowell has a unique mission and our intention is for that mission to continue. We are working diligently with our non-profit partners to find a sustainable home for our programming.

As of November 1, 2011, ONE Lowell will discontinue operations. However, we have every expectation that the mission of ONE Lowell will continue because it is important and it is effective. Over the past 10 years we have existed in Lowell to improve the lives, opportunities and civic engagement of Lowell’s diverse people. That mission has translated into many projects. We’ve helped young people do better in school by empowering their parents to engage with the Lowell School Department. We’ve helped hundreds of Cambodian refugees become American Citizens. We’ve contributed to the research and writing on topics effecting immigrants and refugees. We’ve led many organizing and advocacy campaigns. We’ve trained dozens in leadership skills.

Most important, we’ve had the privilege of being a part of the lives of thousands of brave immigrants and refugees who have made the long journey to come to Lowell and make this City their home.

We wanted to thank you for your involvement and support over the past 10 years. Without you, we would never have been able to accomplish all that we have.

You will still be able to find information about ONE Lowell and this transition at our website www.onelowell.net during the coming months.

If you have questions after October 31, please contact ONE Lowell Board Chair Mike Gallagher at Michael.Gallagher@ebtc.com.

Thank you again for your support of our mission, and your belief that diversity truly is what makes Lowell strong.

    Sincerely,

The Staff and Board of Directors at ONE Lowell
